Monster Energy’s Stage event flooring features Swisstrax’s modular interlocking event flooring tile, Ribtrax – with custom color edges in Monster Energy’s green hue.

Swisstrax President Randy Nelson installed the stage floor that was custom-cut to fit the stage and entrance pads in surrounding areas. The Monster team was on hand to customize the floor and cut it into place.

The Swisstrax event flooring will be going nationwide with Monster and AMA Supercross for all their events throughout the year. The display floor adds to the aesthetics of Monster’s Stage and surrounding areas and the ability to include their corporate identity within the tiles is shown with the Monster “M” in an entrance pad, a Logotile sold by Swisstrax. The Swisstrax modular event flooring is also offered with a routed tile where electric cables can easily be used underneath. The Ribtrax open profile allows for a clean surface as dirt and debris falls underneath the tile and can be vacuumed, hosed or blown out as needed on an occasional basis.

Q I have had two attempts at painting my concrete garage floor. On each occasion the paint has flaked after a short time. On the first occasion I scrubbed the floor with normal washing-up liquid, rinsed it and then used Wickes garage floor paint. On the second occasion I tried to be more rigorous. I used Sugar Soap as the cleaning agent and Leyland garage floor paint. I have seen perfectly good results elsewhere so I must be doing something wrong. A Concrete or screeded floors can be difficult to paint, especially when relatively new, because of a weak surface layer of cement that is brought to the surface by trowelling when wet. This is known in the trade as “laitance”, and can be tested for by scraping the edge of a coin across the surface to see if this produces a fine powdery residue. So, while we think of concrete as being a very hard, dense material, it can have this soft surface layer that flakes off easily, taking any applied paint coating with it.
